Sponsors can vary depending on the person. They vary based on where you live, your economic background, your willingness to learn etc. Even the littlest thing can separate someone from getting a good sponsor from a bad sponsor. With all those factors in mind, sponsors are ultimately mostly based on luck. You don’t get to choose who you meet and who you don’t meet, where you live, how rich or poor you are, economic status of town, and race etc. If you are born rich, more likely or not, opportunities will come to you. You don't really need to go looking for sponsors, they will go to you. On the other hand, if you are poor, it is nearly impossible to find a sponsor that will sponsor you to learn. None of the sponsors are willing to take a risk on a poor, uneducated person. Further than economic status is race. Some sponsors will not sponsor you because you are black regardless of anything. Back then, if you were black, you are automatically given a lower chance to an education.
As for All Writing is Biography, I partially agree with what the author is saying. Writing is all autobiographical to an extent. It depends on what type of genre the piece of writing it is. For example, fiction is all autobiographical. Fiction is based on past experiences that pop up into the writer’s mind. Usually when a writer thinks of an idea, it has already been thought of. This ties back to the idea that everything is a remix. Somewhere in the world of novels, the idea that the writer has thought of has already been written about or spoken about. The first writer to ever think about the idea probably based it off of prior experience, which makes it autobiographical. That is why I agree partially with what the author is trying to say. However, when the author says all writing, it is false. It is not all writing. I believe nonfiction writing is not autobiographical. Nonfiction cannot be autobiographical because it is history, and it may or may not have happened to him specifically. For example, if the writer is writing about World War I, obviously it is not an autobiography. There is a low chance that the write participated in the war and therefore it is just a restatement of facts. Usually nonfiction is a history of events or just random facts. There is no life story/experience to it.
I am at college to learn, socialize, network, and most importantly, to learn about myself and grow up. College isn’t just one component. The full college experience entails studying, socializing and learning more about yourself. Most of the time you hear people say that college is the best time of your life and that statement is somewhat true. College is the only place where you can try new things and learn about multiple things. College is for figuring out what you want to do with your life.
