Hey, so this is Calvin in case it wasn't obvious based on the page before this. Also, pay not attention to the email that I use for this. It's an old one that I used for a while and it's really not optimal anymore but whatever. A trash email for a trash boy.
Anyways, the topic of my writing for this week's blog post is the use of more unsavory language in both common and proper usage. I believe, as it may be obvious from my choice of wording in class, that curse words should be significantly less taboo than they currently are. There are many situations where a classic "darn it" or "ah shoot sport, you'll win the big game next year" just doesn't cut it. I for one (and pardon my French), was raised in a household where my nickname from a young age was "Little Shit" and my grandfather's favorite word to use around me was "fuck". For this, I am thankful. Even though it may seem insignificant, the verbose usage of such language has helped me to become a person significantly more open to voicing their opinion. Additionally, the use of such language is a great way to relieve stress or pent up emotion. The only way to mentally get over stubbing your toe is to yell your favorite 4-letter word a few times, and damn is it satisfying.
I may not have really proven my point well, but I hope that someone agrees with me on this. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to write another blog post to fill the rest of my word count.

ReplyDeleteI totally agree, sometimes you just need to say fuck. Especially when your tutoring a kid and he says he doesn't want to do work and you have to consider what his home life is like.
