Hello again,
Every once in a while I come up with a weird idea that I think would make a good book, movie, or TV show. I wanted to share one of the ideas I came up with and maybe if anyone reads this you can comment below any suggestions or whether you would watch. So the show is about a high school aged boy who had a distant father growing up. His father was always forcing him into new extra curricular activities like gymnastics, karate, rifle team and other languages. Then his father mysteriously dies on a work trip. While at his funeral the boy is kidnapped and brought to a government facility. It turns out that his father was the main hit-man for this government agency, and he had been keeping the existence of his son a secret. The agency then tests the boy and realize that he is a more qualified agent than most of their well-trained operatives. The boy is offered the position his father left vacant, and becomes a hit-man for the government. He is assigned a disgraced agent who had made a terrible mistake in the field, his punishment was to act as the boy's handler. The boy is relocated to a new house, a mansion, where the agent poses as his father and helps him plan the hits the government assigns him. I would stress in the show that none of the characters are good or bad, everyone is a shade of grey. The boy is still killing people, even if they are bad, the handler is verbally abusive to the boy and a drunk, the other government agents don't care if the boy lives or dies. I think it would be interesting to show the boy's progression from human to cold blooded killer. Like the first time he kills someone he's sick for days and can barely leave his bed afterwards, but by the end of the first season he feels nothing and can kill with no remorse. I think it might also interesting to have his father leave behind journals after he died detailing each of his hits and what he learns. Each episode could begin with the boy reading another entry in the journal, and something from that entry helps him with the plot of that episode. The episodes would end with the boy writing in his own journal with his own thoughts on the events of the episode. Each season would be him getting a new target with each episode having the boy plan the hit a little further and the season ending with him killing the target. There would probably need to be side characters, like friends he meets in his high school, who would eventually realize who he is and maybe become complicit with his job. Sorry this was kind of all over the place I was just trying to get everything out of my head and onto the page. Again if you have any recommendations, you love it, or you hate it, let me know in the comments. Thanks for reading!
Love you,
Cam

Honestly I think that sounds really fun and I would watch it but like maybe there should eventually be an uncovering of why the dad was forced or decided to be a hit-man for the government? And possibly a love story tied into it so every single genre is covered like every other movie ahaha? Idk just thoughts. But I really thought this sounded interesting and I say go for it!
ReplyDeleteYeah I was thinking along those lines as well, thank you so much for reading and responding!
