As I expected Spring break was bomb.com. I went home to visit family and actually did a bit more than I thought I was going to (I expected to eat, sleep, poop, repeat). My father's birthday was March 10th, so the weekend I got home we traveled for his birthday. It was not a dramatic trip in terms of going somewhere far or foreign. We stayed in New Jersey, which was great because the snow was horrible that weekend. Regardless, we managed to have tons of fun. We ate AMAZING food, hit the jacuzzi and pool countless times and had dance parties in the hotel room.
After the short get away, I spent the remainder of my vacation eating, sleeping and shopping. I slipped up on my "healthy eating lifestyle" this week and did a bit too much, but I deserved happiness and dopamine release so it's okay. I caught up on all the sleep that midterms and assignments have stripped from me. Most importantly I shopped. I went into the city (NYC) with my brother (who is literally my best friend) and we hit some thrift stores in downtown Manhattan and Brooklyn.
We first went to Goodwill. I love Goodwill because if you have the patience to look through a bunch of trash, you can score some really good finds. I picked up a few really unique pieces that are perfect for spring.
Next, we hit up Buffalo Exchange. I generally love the pieces that Buffalo Exchange has but their prices are gentrified. I am astonished by how much they charge for things you can find somewhere else for cheaper, however I always stop by JUST encase I score on something. I found a really cute white top that I had to cop and only paid 7 bucks for it because I had store credit thrifting some of my old pieces.
Next, we caught the subway and headed into Brooklyn and first went into Beacon's Closet. I love this thrift store. Although it is on the pricier side, you can really leave with some unique pieces and often times find things that are not too expensive. I ended up only purchasing a pair of earrings though (the earring were not second hand!!!!!!!)
LASTLY, we went to my top 3 favorite thrift stores called L Train Vintage. What I love about this store is the prices, jaw dropping. You can find FURS, vintage FURS for 10 bucks there. Yes, I said MERELY 10 dollars. However, (after all that hyping) I only left the store with a pair of pants which I copped for 8 bucks.
As the city trip came to a close, we took the subway back into Manhattan and stopped by a couple other stores on 33rd street, close to Times Square. I made the error of going into the Footlocker, where I ended up purchasing a pair of pink Adidas Continentals ON SALE THOUGH, so I don't feel too bad.
I know no one read through all of that, and I do not blame you because I would not understand why YOU COULD CARE about any of this, but I love fashion and vintage/thrifting especially so I was excited writing about this.
Anyways see you guys on Wednesday, love you all lol!
