What a Day Yesterday and Today

On Saturday, it was about 17~18 degrees Celsius (sorry guys I don’t do Fahrenheit), which is a lot hotter than other usual days. I searched it on the internet and thought it would not be so hot as I would expect, so I wore three layers of clothes that partially ruined my day going outside to visit a small outdoor picnic at Shattuck Picnic Grove. After a few minutes, I needed to take off the first layer just to feel a slight wind onto my sweaty body. Other than that, about fifty people, some of them were my friends and some were new faces, and I made a huge circle and began the lame games: Duck Duck Goose. Surprised at how much effort the people put into the game, I realized later that there was an embarrassing punishment that followed the loser. I recovered my consciousness and soon watched the runner when I became the goose (the chaser). I felt bad for the runner who slipped real hard and fell down on the half-muddy grass. It was not my intent, but I had to catch him for my reason haha…

And after his embarrassing performance of writing his name with his butt in front of everybody, we altogether munched down on the grilled beef and pork with white rice that filled my first meal of the day. To be honest, the meat was fantastic, but I just wanted Kimchi or Pepsi or something that might get rid of the greasy taste of the meat. After our own banquet, we went down the hill and divided into two teams to play dodgeball. Honestly, I was super scared because it was not the dodgeball I imagined. It was literally a soccer ball that can make a person cry if one hits the person really hard. Anyway, we started playing dodgeball and fortunately, no one got hit in the face. It was pretty fun, except for the moments when the ball rolled down into a mud swamp that I once had to pick up and my shoes were decorated in a brown speckle pattern. The party continued for approximately three hours, and some of my friends and I went to Caffe Bene near Northeastern University to quench our thirst with a nice “bingsu”, a popular Korean shaved ice cream with toppings. Although we regretted not ordering a big one that we never thought was there, the one we ordered was still really good; it was a melon-taste ice-cream just in case I  wanted to you to know.

That’s pretty much about it for the lovely weekend. Today morning, I had to wake up at 9:00 am, which is not the right time for me to wake up so early, to go to the Harvard Museum of Natural History for my biology homework. Thank god for having a friend to go with me but what a day because we switched on our brain so early and walked for a solid three hours to answer the questions on the paper from the museum galleries. Now, I’m glad that I finished the task today.
