This week was a pretty good week. The three day weekend was well needed. I needed the extra rest a lot. I haven’t been getting a lot of sleep lately. I’ve just been overloaded with a lot of work these past few weeks. I’ve probably sleep on average of 4 hours right now. Classes and extracurriculars take up a lot of my time. Over this weekend, I made up some of the missed sleep I got. I got about 10 hours of sleep each night through this weekend. It felt so good to just sleep and enjoy my sleep. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten so much needed sleep before. I didn’t really do much this weekend other than sleep and eat. My sleeping schedule is pretty messed up right now. I sleep way too late. The best thing I did over the weekend was play basketball with some of my friends at Marino. I haven’t really played basketball in a while. The last time I’ve really played would probably be before college started. Coming here, I haven’t really had much time to ball for real. It’s mostly just shooting around, having some fun. But this time, I got to ball for real. Finally, I got to play in a full court scrimmage. When I was running up and down the courts, it felt so good. I had so many nostalgic memories, All the tournaments I’ve played in come back to mind. Of course, I wasn’t that good. Obviously I was rusty, as anyone would be if they didn't play for months. I wasn’t really hitting shots or anything or even doing anything productive on the court that was helping my team. I mean it was a pretty chill game; it wasn’t really a competitive one. I still loved the feeling of just running up and down the court even though I wasn’t really good. After the scrimmage, I actually played my friend one on one for ten dollars. It was pretty funny because he was bad at basketball. He thought he could win because he was bigger than me. But I always thought that skill can always beat size, but honestly, it can go any way. It was game to seven and honestly it wasn’t really a challenge to me. I beat him pretty easily; I was not really trying. So basically I got ten dollars for free, which I felt great about. Yesterday service learning was canceled. I was pretty happy about that too because I didn’t really want to wake up at 7 am again. I already wake up at 7 am everyday. It’s kind of killing me right now. So not having it this week made me feel so good. I also wasn’t really in the mood to walk all the way to O’Bryant; yesterday was freezing. On top of that, I’m still not a huge fan of tutoring the kids. They don’t really take us seriously and it’s basically a waste of time. But hopefully it gets better.
