So yesterday was Valentine's Day, I don't really know how exactly I feel about this holiday. On the one hand I feel like it's a good excuse to celebrate the love between two people. I have now been doing that for two years which is nice since it gives my boyfriend and I an excuse to see each other when we wouldn't otherwise. But on the other hand it feels like a very "consumer-ish-holiday" just simply because it was invented for stores to sell more products etc. I also feel like the things most people do on Valentine's Day, are things that can be done without the excuse at any day of the year. Obviously it's nice to be treated but there's something weird it.
Side note: I am currently doing a day-to-day yoga program and yesterday's yoga class (even though it was from January 17th) just so happened to be a Anahata Chakra practice, which means it is a Heart Chakra. A chakra practice is a flow that focuses on a specific energy, or chakra, in the body. So this practice had everything to do with shining your heart forward and opening the shoulders and focusing on the ability to love and have joy. I just thought it was a funny coincidence that this was the practice that I happened to do on Valentine's Day... totally coincidental...
