The Snow

Snow sucks. I'm from New Jersey, where it snows like crazy, and I still think that. It's awful there and it's even worse here. As a kid, I would always want it to snow. Every time it did, I would put on as many layers as possible, gloves, and boots, and I would go outside and play in the snow with my sister. Sometimes I would go outside and just lay in the snow. When I was a lot younger, I lived in Egypt, where it never snowed. So, I guess it was cool when I came to the states and experienced snow for the first time. As I got older, I started to hate it for one reason: ice. I hate ice. Back home, I live in an elevated apartment. To get into the apartment, you had to take stairs up to a porch where the front door was. So when it snowed, I had to walk on an icy porch and down icy steps, where falling was pretty much inevitable. Also, our driveway was really uneven, so there was even more ice there for me to slip on. It got a lot better when I started driving so I didn't have to walk to the bus stop every morning.

We haven't gotten a ton of snow here yet, but even when it flurries, I hate it. A lot of the shoes I brought to college with me have terrible traction, so slipping here is even more of a concern. I could wear my boots, but they're a little uncomfortable and I could still definitely slip in them. I feel like I'm prone to it. I'm prone to slipping and falling. It also sucks because I have to walk to class, which increases potential time to slip. Walking through snow in general is also terrible. Don't get me wrong though, I'm an advocate for the cold. My favorite season is the fall, but I would take the winter season over spring or summer any day. I love being cold. No matter how cold it gets, my window will always be open and my fan will always be on when I'm sleeping. I can't sleep if it's not cold and I definitely can't sleep if I'm sweating.

Being hot sucks, and sweating sucks. So, I don't know what sucks more. I kind of feel like it being disgustingly hot is worse than it being disgustingly cold. Fall is the perfect season. It's the perfect weather for sweaters and sweatshirts. Some days, you can still wear shorts, and some days, you can wear pants and not want to die. The leaves turn pretty colors and Halloween comes around, and then Thanksgiving, which I celebrate with my friends. Nothing can beat the fall. The spring brings allergies, the summer brings sweat and excruciating temperatures, and the winter brings snow, ice, and slipping. Honestly, I'm not really sure how to end this because my ideas are all over the place. Basically, ice sucks, hot weather sucks, and fall rules.
