This review speaks very fondly of the movie "Blue is the Warmest Color", arguing that it beautifully displays the joy, despair, sex, and raw passion of a coming of age relationship between two women. While I enjoyed the movie, I thought this review failed to comment on how it fits into LGBTQ literature and film. The review gushes about this love story but forgets that it is a lesbian love story (strangely directed by a straight white male), and that the way it is portrayed is intentional and makes a comment on queer love and representation. By not critiquing the film in the right context, the purpose of the film gets lost.
