Hi I should be writing a sociology paper right now but I realized I forgot to write a blog post :)
My week has been pretty uneventful. I had my last chemistry midterm on Monday but I still have to study for the final. I still have to write that soc paper and another one for extra credit because I really need it :) I also have a chem lab. I have to do a presentation on Monday that I have yet to start.
Megan has bronchitis! Did I already say that in my last post? Idek. I don’t know how she diagnosed herself but she’s had bronchitis a lot before so I trust her. But her cough is so bad. I don’t understand how I’m not sick again. I think she’s getting better? She doesn’t sound as nasally. But if she doesn’t get better soon, she might have to go see someone.
My friends and I went the Tori Kelly concert on Tuesday! It was amazing. Her voice is incredible. The whole concert was acoustic so it was just her with a guitar and another guitar player. The other guitar was mainly electric and that guy was amazing too. I haven’t listened to a lot of her new songs but I used to listen to her all the time. She sang a lot of throwback songs but sang a lot of unreleased music too. I think she has one of the best voices. But my only complaint is that concerts are just not made for short people. A lot of things are inconvenient in this world but concerts are just the worst. I couldn’t see anything like half the time. As soon as I found the perfect window to see Tori, someone would move an inch and I would only see the back of their head. I tried to tiptoe but that shit is tiring, especially for like 2 hours. Honestly, I didn’t realize how much my legs hurt until the very end. As soon as I started walking, I felt my ankles and knees dying. It was funny because everyone was stretching their legs, back, shoulders, etc. My friends and I went to Target after and it was like 11PM. Late night supermarket runs are a different world. We came out of Target and we had completely forgotten about the concert and were wondering why we were out by the Fens. Afterwards we just went back and snacked in one of our rooms.
Service learning this week was pretty interesting. The students were reading these short poems that they wrote about themselves. They were calling themselves like the Greatest, the Goddess, etc. and it was cool. I’ve never seen an assignment like that and I don’t really know why they did it. It was about like self-empowerment or something. After that we just did some data entry again.
I really want to watch “Us.” I heard it was really good and I’ve been wanting to watch it for the longest time. But tickets out here expensive! Why. I’m honestly used to paying like $20 for movie tickets but idk why it feels more expensive out here. Megan was telling me how movie tickets in South Carolina are like $5 or something. How do they make a living off of $5 tickets. Anyways, I hope I can watch it soon.
Love,
Crystal
